Dog Sled Team Sock Yarn
This 420-yard skein of Cherry Tree Hill Select fingering weight yarn is 100% superwash merino. I hand-painted it with commercial yarns in one- to two-inch color segments to prevent pooling, splotching, and striping. Dog teams consist of more than the stereotypical gray/white/black husky. A variety of teams are used in Alaska for pulling sleds--thus, the range of colors from ecru and tan to brown and black, along with plenty of white. Dog Sled Team Merino/Nylon Sock Yarn
Dogs that pull sleds through the snow come in a variety of color combinations, including black, gray, brown, tan, ecru, and of course plenty of white. I hand painted short color segments of the neutral colors with a short white segment in between each color. This is a 420 yard skein of eighty percent superwash merino and twenty percent nylon fingering weight yarn. The second photo shows the yarn before I reskeined it.
