I got the idea for this from the song The Good Ship Lollipop, which Shirley Temple sang in the movie "Bright Eyes". I listened to the lyrics and the idea just popped into my head. Then I did a sketch on a large piece of paper and reduced it to approximately 2.5 x 3.5 using my scanner. That made it easier for me to paint in the small format. For
