Washington artist Lee Daniels has been creating unique and functional pottery pieces for many years, and here we present one of his ""best sellers"" -- a French butter dish. The 4.5"" x 3.4"" rough textured pot comes in two pieces. Put a 1/4 pound stick of butter into the smaller container, put about 1/3 of cold water into the larger pot, and set the butter into the receptacle. Butter stays soft and spreadable for days without refrigeration, and the pot is attractive enough to keep on your kitchen table.
Always have soft, spreadable butter at the ready in this handmade pottery butter dish! Very simple to use... Pack the top/lid with softened butter. Fill the base partially with water to create a seal when the lid is inverted into it. Add a sprinkle of salt to the water if the butter is unsalted. Change the water every 3-5 days for freshness. Oh la la ... Your cupcakes and petit fours will look so yummy on this vintage plate circa 1956 by Metlox made in California. Very nice condition with no cracks or chips.
