This is an oval relish/celery dish made by The Wellsville China Co., Wellsville, Ohio. They bagan operation in 1902, and this mark was used around 1910. It measures 6" x 13 1/8". The finish is still shiny. There is a small chip on the top edge which I have pictured. There is also a small chip on the very base. This piece is actually in good condition for its 100+ years. This is a vintage piece from Southern Potteries, Inc of Erwin, Tennessee. It is called a Leaf Celery from the obvious fact that it is shaped like a leaf. I believe this is the Chintz pattern a multitude of colorful flowers. In 1945 Blue Ridge came out with a line of about 40 pieces that were; fine quality vitreous chinaware. Lovely Germany Celery Dish which features a floral motif, very pretty. This is a large celery dish measuring 13 1/2 inches long by 6 1/2 inches tall. Gold highlighting is very bright with very little loss. I find no chips, cracks or repairs, there is a faint pink paint smudge in the top right corner which was done during manufacturing (see photo). There is one chip on the rim at the tip of the leaf shape. As the photos show there are some brown spots on the top side of the dish and non on the back. There are no cracks or crazing. This is a an unusual Nippon hand painted celery dish. The dish has an oval shape with pierced handles. It has a gold trim on the rim. It has scrolls in gold on cream with tiny straight lines along the edge. The unusual part is on the upper edge mid section both sides has a yellow chested blue bird. sitting on the branch of a pink and lavender rose bush. I normally see these dishes with floral garland or geometric patterns. It is marked Nippon in green with a wreath and an M in the middle, on the bottom. "M"

An antique porcelain celery tray decorated with a center portrait area of two young woman in a garden. The sides are a deep cobalt blue and there are cut out handles on each end decorated with gold. We also have floral decorations on each side of the center portrait in a rich pink with gold foil decoration just under the cobalt rim.
