1940s Yona California Pottery Dutch Boy Flower Holder This 1940s dutch boy flower holder vase by Yona Ceramics of California is badly crazed but very attractive. The blond Dutch boy carries water buckets over his shoulder which form the vase openings. The hand painted design and distinctive shape resembles the work of Hedi Schoop, not surprising as Yona Lippin and her husband worked for Hedi before starting their own studio. Original label on the underside is torn but still present.

Cuerda Seca Mediterranean, California Art Tile, Spanish Tile Bowl It measures 4 3/4" diameter by 2 1/2" high. This bowl was painted using the Cuerda Seca method. Thin bands of black wax resist maintain color separation between colors as the glazes are hand-painted on the bowl. When fired in the kiln the 'Cuerda Seca' or 'Dry Cord' wax resist burns off leaving behind black glazed lines. Will U.S.A.. This terrific, unused, vintage ceramic fountain spit is a beautiful deep forest green color and the tag is still on the bottom. It states " A Georgewood Creation Retail Services Santa Ana, Ca.". It is in perfect condition except for a little crackle on the white spot painted on the eyes.. There is not even a flea bite. I love the hand hewn quality of it. The mouth is not a perfect circle as it is hand made. These pieces of mid-century California pottery are getting more and more collectible.
