Majolica Mottled Wild Weed Plate
This is a nice plate featuring what appear to be rushes or cattail type bushes with pink centers and green stalks on each side of the plate with a band of wood faux and a mottled center with browns and greens and a gold color rim. The back of the plate is in green and is not watermarked (no potters signature), which was not uncommon on most Majolica pieces and is slightly raised on a rim. The plate is heavy and measures 9 1/4" in diameter. This is a lovely rustic or primitive plate for a cabin or cottage
