Offered is this Handpainted Stangl Pottery Orchard Song pattern Chocolate /Milk /Water /Juice Pitcher made in the 1960-70 era. It is done in a high-gloss glaze and decorated with handpainted cherries and apples. The inside is fully glazed in a soft chocolate brown. It is 6 1/4 inches tall and 9 inches from spout to handle. It is in excellent like new condition with no indication of use.

The Stangl birds made their debut in 1940 and were marketed until 1978. Collectors divide them into two groups; those made from 1940-1972 and those reintroduced on a limited basis from 1974-1978 after the death of J. Martin Stangl. I picked up some nice items at one of my old favorite auction houses the other night. This are estate fresh from the Northern Ct area. These two pink parrots or Cockatoos I think are in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, flaws of any kind that i can find. From the research I did the double pink cockatoos are also very sought after and a rarer pattern. These majestic eagle bookends are very hard to find as a pair. The depth of color and the modeling of the eagles make these special. I also like the use of fieldstone in the back behind the eagles.
