This is a 10 " round serving bowl in the highly collectible hand painted Stangl White Dogwood pottery on green. Stangl Pottery had its roots back to 1805, but it didn't become known as Stangl until a young chemist and designer from Germany by the name of Johann Martin Stangl brought new innovations to the company and later actually bought the company. Stangl Pottery ended production in the late 1970s after Martin Stangl's death. The bowl is in excellent condition and shows that it has been used very little.

This Stangl Pottery turkey is hard to find. He is 3-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" wide x @ 4-1/4" deep. His hand painted colors are brown, gold, rust, green, dark rose, black, and off white. He is impressed on the base "Stangl - U.S.A. - 3275". Hand written in black are the artist's initials "LK". This turkey figure is in nice condition. There are no chips or cracks.

The Stangl birds made their debut in 1940 and were marketed until 1978. Collectors divide them into two groups; those made from 1940-1972 and those reintroduced on a limited basis from 1974-1978 after the death of J. Martin Stangl. This serving dish measures 11 inches in length with each compartment measuring 5 inches in length. It is 8 inches in width. It is made with shades of brown with a lighter brown in the bowl area.
