Large signed Wave Crest late Victorian box. Wave Crest was made by the C. F. Monroe Co., Meriden, CT. The surface has an extensive raised design with flowers in the middle and a hand painted floral design around the circumference. It has a cream color fading to a light pink on the edges. Opal glass Jardiniere is number 275 in the C. F. Monroe Co. 1902-1903 catalog. The powder blue Wave Crest Ware opal glass jardini re having two distinctly different hand painted repousse rococo shaped cartouches containing sprays of pink Shasta daisies. An antique canary glass bowl that features a waved pattern to the body which narrows up to the opening. This is hand decorated with tiny blue and white flowers and brown stems. We also find white enameling along the rim. we find a hole at the bottom of the bowl. We believe this was used as an ash tray that was mounted to a stand along with a match holder. Tall opal glass biscuit / cracker jar with silver plated mounts and hand painted enhanced transfer decoration. Made by C. F. Monroe Co. The glass has an ornate molded pattern that frames the floral decoration. Plated parts are left in original unpolished condition, which some collectors prefer, but should polish up nicely as there are no apparent areas of plating loss. Signed on the underside of the lid. A fine piece of decorated Victorian glass, this biscuit jar was made by the CF Monroe company as part of their Wave Crest Line. It is milk glass with a custard wash. The floral decoration is transfer printed and hand-colored. The jar also has the sort of Rocco Victorian surface decoration that Wavecrest is known for. This piece is shown on page 166 of the reprint of the CF Monroe catalogs published by the Glass Press in 1999. This piece date to 1895-1905. The interior of the lid is marked C. F. M. Co.
An extraordinary piece of opaline glass made by the C. F. Monroe company in their Wave Crest or Wavecrest line. This jardiniere was shown in their 1895-96 catalog, and Cohen's book on Wave Crest lists these pieces as "hard to find". This jardiniere is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. This footed wavecrest box is 7 by 7 by 4 3/8 inches high. The box is decorated with brown, white and blue flowers on the side. The box does not have a lid. The bottom of the box is a thin metal that has rusted. This would make a great dresser tray if it was lined. It dates circa 1895.
The C.F. Monroe Company turned out its decorated Opal Ware in a variety of forms. Undoubtedly the most popular was that of a covered, hinged box, and these boxes are found today in an infinite variety of shapes . This fantastic Hand Painted Wavecrest hinged box is decorated with a lovely pink floral and green leaf design with raised enamel accents. This large Wavecrest Dresser Box measures 7 3/4 across the base and stands 3 1/2 high. A blown out ring of flowers encircles the lid. The background color is a deep blue. As is the case with many of the boxes of this era, it is missing its original cloth lining. It is in excellent condition (no chips, cracks, or repairs). The metal ring around the lid and base sports it's original shine.

This pair of decorative ewers were most likely painted by the C. F. Monroe company. Intended as a matched pair one has a scene of a young girl gathering wildflowers- the other just a bouquet of the same. The metal is a spelter which was once gilt painted but is losing much of it's finish-they are after all turn of the century(late 1800's to very early 1900's) so this should be expected. Mint condition all original signed Wavecrest covered dresser box that even retains some of its original silk lining. Made by C.F. Monroe Co. circa 1910. Hand painted floral decoration on white panels with a soft matte blue in between. The painted decoration is found only on the top and front panel with a simple monochrome leaf on the rear panel. Side panels are left white. Marked on the base, the brass collar is still bright with its gilt intact - no tarnish or darkening. Measures 3.25" x 3.25" x 3.25".

This beautiful 1900s CF Monroe Co Wave Crest Blue Brown Flowers Pin Tray & Butterfly Square Box is being sold together. The pin tray is 1 1/2 inches tall with a base of 2 5/8 inches and a width of 4 1/8 inches from handle to handle. The diameter of the pin tray opening is 2 1/4 inches.
