Vintage McCoy brown drip pottery tea pot, 8" long, 5 1/2" tall. This looks good, no chips or cracks, some light mineral deposits from use.
This unique and gorgeous vase exhibits imagination with glaze and color experimentation. While bordering on a drip glaze style, it varies with a colored arrangement of yellows, tans, and browns that combine to make this vase truly unique. The vase is in excellent condition, and has no chips or cracks, or repairs. It is 5 and 3/4 inches tall and has an opening with a diameter of 6 and 5/8 inches. The vase is unmarked but we think it may be Brush McCoy or California.

For your consideration is a vintage 1943 McCoy #2 - 2 Qt reddish brown with a raised leaf & green bean style pattern encircling the pot & lid. It is marked on the bottom "McCoy," but it is very hard to read. The knob on the top was done in a two tone brown with a shiny darker brown glaze encircling the sides, but the top is done in a dull & darker brown glaze. Gorgeous, one of a kind and heavy jardiniere is unsigned, but similar pieces can be found in various McCoy Pottery Collector books. On page 15 of "McCoy Pottery" by Hanson /Nissen /Hanson there is a Chapter on Blended Glazes. "From the mid 1920's a blended glossy glaze was used on many (McCoy) pieces. These jardineres were offered in several sizes and most of them were not marked." These early pieces were also made into lamps, and are getting harder to find. Missing the lid, this old fashioned milk can shape cookie jar by McCoy was made in honor of America's Bicentennial but was only in production from 1972 to 1974. It has a brown drip glaze and an embossed liberty bell on one side and a Union 76 shield on the other. The liberty bell design has the year 1776 at the top, 1976 on the bottom. The jar measures 8-3/4 inches high to the rim, 6-5/8" diameter at the base. Other than the missing lid, it's in excellent condition.
