Ruffled edge low bowl or plate in the Grape pattern by Imperial glass. This Marigold Carnival Glass bowl is 9 inches wide and about 2 inches tall with a low foot. It is in good overall condition with just a couple of issues to note. There is one small chip on the backside of the plate which does not go all the way through. There are also a few very small pinpoint to 1/16th size chips on the rim. It still displays beautifully.
While he Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire Ohio, was firstized in 1901 by a group of local investors, it wasn't until January 1904, that the first glass was made, and not until almost five years later that the beautiful iridized glass known as carnival was created. This very colorful water set is the "Imperial Grape" pattern and was designed to compete with Northwood's Grape and Cable pattern. The pitcher measures 8" in height, 8" from spout-to-handle and 3" across the base; the tumblers are 4" in height

If you need a couple, to complete a water set, here are two very nice tumblers.

In the cobalt color, the grape pattern with its large leaves between each grape cluster is covered around the bowl and lid and stands out quite attractively. Rings circle the footed portion of the base with the Imperial Glass sticker still attached. Inside the lid is seen the letter "G" superimposed over the stylized letter "I" with this mark being used from 1951 to 1972. The compote stands 9 "

When it is used to serve jellies, sauces, dips, or other shared foods, the holes around the open lace border can hold up to 12 small demitasse spoons, hence the nickname. Overall the entire dish measures 4 H x 6 diameter, measuring from outside edge to

This gorgeous Fenton Art Glass Black Carnival Stretch bowl features their Grape and Vine mould. The graceful edges of the iridescent finished bowl have a "stretch" effect. Stretch Glass refers to a particular kind of iridescent glassware where the edges may feel somewhat rough, and it is not used very often in glass making. The Grape & Vine Bowl has the Fenton logo with an "F" in an oval, which means they acquired the mould from another company. This mould came from Imperial Glass, and they called the
