I picked these up in upstate New York and have always liked hand painted Nippon and with spring here really liked the nice colors. They all appear to be in excellent condition and are numbered 219 and properly marked with makers stamp. They measure the pretty standard plate size at 9 3/4" wide and look wonderful with the blue aqua mix in the background. I tried to picture them well to show both the colors and condition off. This porcelain, gilt-edged 4-piece vanity set is in excellent condition. The set consists of a rectangular tray, hat pin holder, and hair tidy with lid. The hair tidy bowl stands on three delicately curved legs. The mark on the bottom of each piece shows the green wreath with "M" (Morimura Brothers), Handpainted, and Nippon, which dates it to early last century. Here is a lovely antique jewelry or trinket box delicately hand painted with flowers and trimmed in gold. Adding to its beauty are its three curved legs and a sculptured upper body. It was made by the famous Morimura Brothers of Japan sometime between 1891 and 1921. I also have a matching dresser tray in my shop. I had a hard time getting the gold to show up in the picture ,so I had to take the picture without the flashand brighten it.. So the actual plate is white, not yellowish. This is a lovely small Nippon porcelain trinket or dresser box. It is hand painted with a deep vibrant cobalt color and with roses in pink and yellow hues. It has wonderful gold metallic and different raised colored beads. Most likely, it belonged to a dresser set. The condition of this item is very good, without any chips or cracks.
