This item is an orange pinched waist crackle glass vase with a broken pontil on the bottom. The piece is 3 7/8 tall, 2 1/4" across the flared top rim, 1 1/8" at the pinch, 2 1/4" at it's widest diameter, by 1 1/4" across the bottom. The flared top flows through the neck into the bulbous bottom section and the entire vase is orange colored glass. The piece has no wear or damage of any type. We have recently been informed that this piece is a Pilgrim piece as shown in, "Crackle Glass From Around the world". It is in very dark Honey Topaz with a tapered waist around which is coiled applied threaded glass. The crackle on this vase is actually textured, a superb example. It is in excellent condition with no damage. The vase measures 11.5 high with a 5 inch diameter base. This Handblown Crackle Glass Pitcher is a delightful shade of Blue and has the Ruffled top. The pontil mark is on the bottom and it has an applied clear blue glass drop over handle. It stands 5 inches tall and is 3 inches in diameter. Known as a window sill pitcher (morning sun is gorgeous thru it) it also displays beautifully in the powder room or what-not shelf. The condition, color and appearance is excellent.

Very popular in the 1940-50's, crackle glass was used for many decorative items including vases, pitchers, bowls and perfume bottles. This pink perfume bottle is lovely in design and color. The bottle is bell shaped and appears to have been hand blown because of the large pontil mark on the bottom. The hot blown glass was then dipped into cold water which causes the crackling..hence the name "crackle glass." The top, however was molded and done in a ornate flower design. This is a very large, tall, and thick glass vase. A clear bubble was started, dipped in water with baking soda to crackle the surface and deposit small particles of baking soda onto glass, then gathered over to seal in the bubbles, and finally I added large 2" polished murini onto the exterior surface. The detailed murini were melted in just enough to stick to the bubble and to round and smooth the sharp edges. All the murini were made, cut, and polished by myself.
