Born in 1880, Marc Laberte was the director of the Atelier Labert-Humbert and its extended firms. The workshop itself was founded in 1780 by the great grandfather Laberte and was one of the largest shops in Mirecourt until the mid-twentieth century when it closed. By 1920, nearly 400 craftsmen were employed to make instruments of all levels.
