Frankie Carle was a talented jazz pianist and big band leader whose career began in the late 1930s as featured pianist in Horace Heidt's big band (he mentions Heidt in this letter!) and went on to success with his on combos and big bands in the 1940s and 1950s. In this letter he thanks a fan for supporting a radio program that he was involved in while in Hiedt's band.
