    This elegant Bass tuba was originally carried by the USQMC (Us Quartermaster's Choir)and was owned by J.A. Johnson who was involved with my grandfather (C.Y. Nobles) in organizing music events at a roadhouse called "Mudhouse Manor" in Petersburg, VA. This venue was frequented by soldiers coming to and from WWII and was infamous for late night Dixieland jam sessions and boozing. Lot of soul in this horn.
