This multi-toned Kutani ware exemplifies great dexterity and accuracy in red designs on white ground, ca late 19th Century with Kutani Ryozo marks. This incense burner was made in Kaga province around the village of Kutani-Mura after the Meiji Restoration (1868) and before the McKinley Act (1891). This colorful Chinese incense burner sports a unique design of a Chinese symbol. The symbol is painted in black on two sides and on one side it is cut into the porcelain.
This lovely moriage incense burner was made by the Nippon Yoko Boeki Company, anywhere from 1921 to 1941. It?s in splendid condition, with its gilded Foo dog still brightly perched on the lid. Its simple design and lighter colors make it more appropriate for contemporary d?cor.It stands about 3-1/2? tall, and is about 3-1/4? from handle to handle. There is a little porcelain ?bump? in the bottom that helps to hold an incense cake in place. Sticks can be used by threading them through the holes in the lid.

This Japanese KUTANI porcelain incense burner with a foo dog statue has some of the coolest Kutani colors I have seen including a most colorful foo dog with great character. A lovely Paris pastille burner in the form of a single hyacinth flower. The design is very intricate and successful. Pierced with holes beneath the flower heads to emit light or scent. Ridged on the bottom to allow for a cord and light bulb to be inserted inside. Dates from the 1920's. Very good condition - one flower petal is chipped - does not detract. Measures 7" tall.

This is a rare piece I haven't been able to find anywhere. It is an original hand-painted flowered porcelain incense burner (alternatively you could put a tea light in it) reflecting the Ming Dynasty era. These were made in Canton, China (Guangzhou) as part of the Canton Collection between the late 18th and early 19th century for export.
