I bought this at a 2nd hand store approximately over 20 years ago and wore it once or twice. I love it but just realized I'm not much of a brooch wearing person. It's such a cool brooch and I've tried to find some history or similar on it but haven't found much but it seems that the castle may be the symbol for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and this could have been what was called a "Sweetheart Pin" and could possibly date back to the 1940's. Not sure though why there is the crown or

There is six-point star with a thatch house and church in pastoral scene. The sentiment is merely "EASTER GREETINGS" in metallic silver on a dark brown background. The card's edge is the silver metallic. The card is postmarked - 1910 from Auburn, Indiana. It is by Davidson Bros.' Pictorial postcards, Series 39. Printed in Germany, the design elements are embossed,
