It was an excellent Cabernet vintage, wines from the Medoc

Features 2012 Chateau Figeac Futures 750ML "From a blend of blend of 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a different style for Figeac. Much of the credit goes to the bringing in Michel Rolland and Valmy Nicolas from Chateau La Conseillante in Pomerol. This is the first vintage where Michel Rolland was involved in the blending. Notes of truffle, earth, coffee bean, licorice and spicy berry notes opened to a silky, round, supple textured, elegant wine, filled with ripe, sweet,

This wine is from France, Bordeaux region, Pomerol sub-region. Like Petrus but a fraction of the price. You can still get this Christian Moueix gem at the pre-arrival futures price.. Wow! This wine exceeded my enthusiastic barrel tasting notes. A big, back-strapping blockbuster from Gazin, in which the oak seems to be pushed into the background (thankfully), the wine offers up notes of caramelized black cherry and black currant fruit interwoven with mocha, white chocolate, subtle toast and hints of coffee

  • Chateau Lafleur (futures) 2012 750ML

This wine is from France, Bordeaux region, Pomerol sub-region. Reminiscent of the 2001 Lafleur, the 2012 is supple and elegant as well as impressively pure, textured and medium-bodied, with sensual kirsch-like fruit intermixed with loamy soil, licorice and incense notes. While not particularly powerful, it possesses a deep ruby color with purple nuances, and is stunningly pure with no hard edges. This 2012 will be drinking well by age 5 or 6 (atypical for a young Lafleur), and should keep for 15 or more.

This wine is from France, Bordeaux region, Pomerol sub-region. The 2010 Les Pensees de Lafleur is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The wine is fresh and lively, with loads of strawberry and black cherry fruit, hints of underbrush and crushed rock, and good length. The final blend seems to be different from what I tasted in early 2011. Drink it over the next 15 years. (Wine Advocate Review) BORDEAUX BLEND Wine

This wine is from France, Bordeaux region, Pomerol sub-region. Hosanna's dense ruby/purple color is followed by a floral, black raspberry, black currant, mulberry, Christmas fruitcake and licorice-scented bouquet. Full-bodied (especially for a 2012 as well as a Pomerol), rich, concentrated and strikingly pure, it combines great finesse/elegance with power and substance. It should drink well when released and age nicely for two decades or more. (Wine Advocate Review) Delivers a muscular core of plum and

This wine is from France, Bordeaux region, Pomerol sub-region. There is a boatload of tannin in this intense purple-colored effort as well as a beautiful bouquet of mulberry jam, kirsch, licorice, truffles and toast. Seductive, full-bodied and opulent with abundant red and black fruit, it is a full-bodied, long, impressive Pomerol that should keep for 30+ years. (Wine Advocate Review) Very lively and invigorating, delivering flavors of raspberry ganache, briar, bay and red licorice. Shows ample energy, with

While there is a shortage of truly profound, world-class offerings in 2009 and 2010, there is a lot of fine wine. Features 1990 Xx Chateau Troplong Mondot Futures 750ML The amazing performances of both vintages of troplong-mondot came as no surprise, although i had never scored either vintage this high. Both are broodingly backward, opaque purple-colored wines with masses of fruit, extraction, and power. Both reveal chocolatey, blackcurrant, weedy tobacco-scented noses, and classic, full-bodied, powerful flavors. Both of these wines possess massive finishes that coat the mouth with extract, glycerin, and tannin. In

  • Vieux Chateau Certan Pomerol 2011 750ML

94-96 Points, Wine Advocate Made in a big, bold style with 13.6% natural alcohol, it reveals a stunning perfume of graphite, mulberries, black currants, kirsch, licorice and forest floor. This full-bodied, dense Pomerol transcends the overall vintage character. Thienpont compared the style of the 2011 with their 2000, but with more density to its core because of the extremely low yields. Only 60% of the crop made it into this cuvee. It will need 5-8 years of cellaring, and should still be intact and

  • Chateau Hosanna Pomerol 2010 750ML

94-96 Points, Wine Advocate There are approximately 1,500 cases of this 80% Merlot/20% Cabernet Franc blend. Owned by Christian Moueix, Hosanna was carved out of the old estate of Certan Giraud with the finest parcels going in to Hosanna. The dense purple-hued 2010 exhibits a sweet bouquet of melted chocolate, black raspberries, black currants, coffee and Asian plum sauce. Full-bodied and rich with serious tannin, good acidity and alcohol that must be pushing toward 14.5%, it will benefit from 2-3 years of

    Highlights:

  • Chateau Trotanoy Pomerol Bordeaux 2010 750ML

93-95+ Points, Wine Advocate The 2010 Trotanoy should turn out to be as sublime as the 2008. It is a bigger, but more backward and monolithic effort with an inky/purple color as well as abundant black fruit and foresty characteristics. Made in a decidedly tannic, masculine, structured style, this wine is loaded, but a decade of patience will be essential for potential purchasers. *This item is being offered 'En Primeur' (as a future)* Please be advised this item is due to arrive Fall 2013 Prices listed are

  • Château L'Evangile

Features Chateau Evangile Chateau L'Évangile belongs within the élite names in the commune of Pomerol. I find the name evocative of a wine imbued with grandeur and authority, it name sounds as if it was baptised from the Heavens. Alas, my first encounter with the wine was an ignominous one, amidst a rugby scrum of frantic Christies' pre-sale customers, many insisting that their glasses were filled to the brim and ignoring any form of tasting etiquette. The event was such a shambles that I believe that the
