IWC 95pts. - According to Steven Tanzer's International Wine Celler: Deep red. Lovely high-pitched aromas and flavors of raspberry, minerals, flowers and spices; this could go into a time capsule. Then juicy, pure and almost magically light on its feet, with terrific verve and spicy lift. Although this wine is very firm and closed at the outset, it opens-and keeps opening in the mouth-to offer great fruit flavors It is finely balanced, very pure, combining an ethereal character with the proper feet-in-the-soil taste of great Pinot Noir Age for 20 years, if you can bear to wait Score: 96 -Roger Voss, March 01, 2007A supremely beautiful if very reserved nose with a stunning melange of spice notes, floral notes, particularly violets, red and black berry fruit aromas plus nuances of earth, game
As always with La TAche when young, an access that is quite severe at first, then we find liquorice and forest floor. The power is more "linear" than compact (like the Richebourg). The cru mastered and even benefited from the brutality of the season.
Robert Parker rated 99 points! The 2003 La Tache reveals aromas of milk chocolate, violets, roses, and dark cherries. Suave, displaying massive amplitude and a full-bodied, velvety-textured character, this behemoth???s flavor profile brings to mind chocolate-covered black cherries. Immensely powerful and noble, it offers an interminable finish that is packed with flawlessly ripe, sweet tannin. Projected maturity: 2013-2030. Sorry, no discounts on this wine!

1990 DRC - Romanee Conti La Tache (slightly soiled)1 in stock Size = 750 ml, RP[100] "I cannot think of a more profound, young red Burgundy tasted than DRC's 1990 La Tache. Although it still requires another 3-4 years of cellaring, it is incredibly endowed, with an extraordinary perfume of Asian spices as well as jammy black raspberries, cherries, and blackberries infused with smoke, toast, and dried herbs. Full-bodied, but ethereal, with layers of flavor, as well as mind-boggling delicacy and complexity,
1999 DRC La Tache Burgundy 1999 DRC La Tache Burgundy Pinot Noir WS97/RP93 Rating:
One of the prettiest noses in this group with forward, elegant, fine, ultra spicy aromas framed by the barest hint of sous bois leading to medium weight, relatively fine flavors and a long but fairly tannic finish. This resembles the '87 in the sense that time will eventually resolve the tannic structure but it's hard to see the nose ever improving from here. This is an undeniable success for a difficult vintage. Consistent notes. Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Allen Meadows, 05/05/2006) Rating: 89 Drink
