98 points Wine Spectator : "[$150 list] Wow. This is really an explosion of fruit on the nose, with masses of crushed strawberries, toasted oak and cedar on the nose and palate, and a hint of fresh herbs. Full-bodied and very chewy, with lots of ripe tannins and a ripe fruit finish. Exciting. This is the first wine from famous Barbaresco producer La Spinetta from 20 acres in the Barolo region. Best after 2010. 2,665 cases made."

Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso : "The 2001 Barolo Campe is a stunner. The extremely elegant nose is followed by a muscular, even aggressive, palate of depth, richness and territorial character. Three Glasses were awarded without argument. (2006)" 97 points Wine News : "Deep garnet hue. Nicely evolved, pretty aromas of dried cherry, rose petals, dust and tobacco. Foursquare, tangy flavors of strawberry, cherry and menthol have a kirsch-like texture, great balance and citrusy acidity. Long, warm close oozes

Colored an intense, vibrant ruby red, this wine is warm and rich with the elegance of Nebbiolo. Its nose is graceful and intense, with scents of ripe red fruits and spices well balanced with notes of wood. Round on the palate, with distinct and powerful flavors, there is a long, fine fruit finish. Ideal with grilled food, the wine would also pair extremely well with elaborate, sauced meat and wild game dishes. Giorgio Rivetti is THE MAN, no doubt about it. First he lit the fire with his amazing Barbarescos, then blew everyone out of the water with a 98 point performance of his first vintage of Barolo Campe in 2000. The 2001 is even better and with 97 points by Daniel Thomases in the new Veronelli guide, the wine is already a star. This is a serious wine that belongs in every collector's cellar.
