Civil War soldiers Knife and Fork set. The knife measures 9 1/4"" long and the fork 7 1/4"" long. They both have bone handles held together by two pins. During the Civil War, many soldiers would bring their own eating utensils from home or they would purchase tin generic types from the camp sutler. This handsome, molded replica of an authentic Hornbill, Hawkins & Cole Picture Case (1855) features book covers heavily embossed with a scroll and floral design, and brass hinges similar to the originals. Our case measures 3" x 3.5" x .75" unopened. The open case displays a maroon, velveteen pad on the left and a metal trimmed, replica photo of Col Mosby on the right side.
