This kneeheight socks are knit toe-up and feature a traditional Alpine stitch pattern called "Strausserl" which extends down the leg. The calf is shaped in the traditional Austrian stockings way. The pattern consists of 7 pages of clear and detailed instructions. Both charted and written instructions are given. Measurements are given in US standard and metric. =Sizing= One size, please go up/down on needle size to adjust leg and foot circumference. Length of foot, leg and calf position are adjustable.
Another in a series of shaped knitting books, this one carries on with 19 Christmas stocking and ornament patterns. I really like the pattern layout, charts, and special instructions for the various ornaments and stitches that make all these stockings unique. Knitted snowman bobbles, tassels, fur stitches, felting, and embroidery are used with fun-to-knit traditional cables, fair-isle, and felting. Nice charts and instruction in a convenient table format help make knitting these heirloom stockings as great
