When I bought this loom it was referred to as an Inkle loom and that is mainly the way I have enjoyed using it. From the pictures you can see that it has a single treadle that works like a see-saw. It has no beater or reed so the warps can be pulled tight by the weft to make a nice tight belt or trim piece. It is a pleasure to warp and a joy to see a belt pattern develop on this loom. I have also used it for making open weave type scarves. I believe it could be used with a small rigid heddle if desired, but
