Bright golden yellow goldenrod against a darkened sky, with sage green foliage slanting away: this design is more muted and has less stark contrast than is usual for me, but the watery blending of the blue and blue-gray is just what I wanted. The sky this time of year can be heavy and full of color: it makes the goldenrod flowers stand out. The effects here were done by spraying and brush-painting dye, not by any mechanical means.
